This 1938 Chris-Craft Deluxe is a 17′ wood runabout that is powered by an inboard 221ci inline-six driving a single prop through a forward-reverse transmission. The boat was purchased by the seller in 1991, and a subsequent refurbishment included refinishing the hull, reupholstering the cockpit in red vinyl, and overhauling the engine. Equipment includes a two-piece windscreen, navigation lights, a polished cutwater and other brightwork, forward and aft flag holders, and two rows of bench seats. This Chris-Craft is now offered at no reserve with spare parts, removed cushions, a 1938 Boat Equipment Record, an engine service manual, a single-axle trailer, a clean Indiana watercraft title in the seller’s name, and a bill of sale for the trailer. The topsides and deck wear a varnished finish, and the boat has a white bootstripe and red bottom paint. The boat features a two-piece windscreen, a polished cutwater and other brightwork, navigation lights, a bow spotlight, a beehive-lens stern light, forward and aft flag holders, a bilge pump, a fire extinguisher, and white upper deck caulking. The hull was refurbished circa 1991. The cockpit houses two bench seats that are upholstered in red vinyl along with a matching crash pad. Further details include a wooden dash, storage cubbies, and black carpeting as well as front and rear step plates. Photos showing blemishes on the front bench upholstery are presented in the gallery. The cockpit was refreshed with replacement cushions circa 1991, and five removed cushions that are in need of repair are included in the sale. The helm features a two-spoke steering wheel along with a hand throttle lever and a forward/reverse floor shifter. Instrumentation includes a reverse-sweep tachometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, amperage, and engine temperature. The boat is not equipped with an hour meter, therefore total operating hours are unknown. The 221ci Chris-Craft KA inline-six produced a factory-rated 95 horsepower, and engine number 6910 matches the number listed on the hatch tag. It is said to have been overhauled during the 1990s refurbishment, and additional work at that time included rebuilding the carburetor, balancing the propeller, and replacing the motor mounts, fuel pump, and prop shaft and bushing. The water pump was replaced in September 2024 and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the single bronze propeller through a forward/reverse transmission. The single-axle trailer features a manual winch, a tongue jack, carpeted bunks, and street lighting. A boat cover is also included in the sale. The Chris-Craft Boat Equipment Record shows the original configuration and equipment as well as the delivery date. The boat is titled by the Indiana Assigned Hull Number INZ090986082, and the hull number 71322 is shown above. The trailer does not have a title or registration and is offered on a bill of sale. only.
