This 1972 Volkswagen Type 2 Westfalia was restored under previous ownership circa 2020 and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2026. Finished in Sierra Yellow over black vinyl and patterned cloth, the van is powered by an air-cooled 1,679cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a pop-top roof tent as well as a single downdraft carburetor, front disc brakes, 14″ steel wheels, white bumpers, jalousie side windows, a cabin heater, three-row seating, a rear bench/bed, a sink, folding tables, storage cabinets, and a retro-style radio. Service in 2022 reportedly included rebuilding the engine and transaxle and replacing the clutch. This Type 2 Westy is offered by the selling dealer with a clean Michigan title. The van was refinished under previous ownership in Sierra Yellow (L11H). Exterior details include a forward-hinged pop-top roof tent as well as quarter vent windows, dual side mirrors, jalousie side windows, and white-finished bumpers. Body-color 14″ steel wheels wear chrome VW-stamped hubcaps and are mounted with Venezia Classic 787 whitewall tires. Stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums. The forward cabin houses bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl. Appointments include a cabin heater, crank windows, three-point seatbelts, and a retro-style radio. The right-side sliding door opens to reveal a pop-top roof tent with a sleeping platform and zip-open windows, as well as a rear-facing second-row seat and a third-row bench/bed trimmed in cloth with a floral pattern. Additional appointments include a sink, fold-out tables, and storage cabinets. The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 90-mph VDO speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 28k miles. The air-cooled 1,679cc “Pancake” flat-four is said to have been rebuilt in 2022 and features a single downdraft carburetor. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The transaxle was reportedly rebuilt, and the clutch was replaced, in 2022. Areas of the underside are coated with rust inhibitor, and additional photos are presented in the gallery.
